Why is MCII Needed?
One reason MCII is needed is to draw attention to this problem. Many mission organizations do not allow mission churches to be supported by anyone other than the missionary.
For most mission fields that is a good policy, but for oppressive mission fields, it is not, because as it has been shown previously, mission churches are not able to support themselves. Missionaries in oppressive countries under this type of policy are either tied down to one church not allowing them to go on and start more churches, or they are forced to leave their mission churches with inadequate support causing the mission churches to eventually fold.
Another reason why MCII is needed is to emphasize the importance of starting churches on the mission field. MCII sends out missionaries whose main purpose is to start churches.
Money, evangelists, Christian radio stations, and humanitarian aid are all good tools to reach the lost, but without a local Bible-believing church their effect is neglible.
