Guidelines

Approval of Missionaries and Mission Churches

  1. Missionaries and Mission Churches wanting approval (called applicants in the rest of this section) must be presented to the board of directors by one of the board members. It is that board member's responsibility to find out about and know about the applicant; and to make sure that the applicant meets all requirements listed below.
  2. To be approved the applicant must receive a majority of votes from the board members present or a majority of votes from all board members by correspondence.
  3. Either before or after approval, the applicant must fill out an application form.

Requirements for Mission Churches

  1. The Mission Church must have been started by a missionary.
  2. All leaders in the Mission Church must agree to MCII's Statement of Faith and must act accordingly. Actions not in agreement with MCII's Statement of Faith are grounds for correction and/or withdrawal of support.
  3. MCII uses a Sponsor Missionary as the mediator between MCII and the Mission Church. The Sponsor Missionary must:
    1. supervise the national pastor for a year (prior to recieving support from MCII) when the national pastor does all of the preaching and pastoring;
    2. find churches to support the Mission Church;
    3. set up a monthly budget for the Mission Church and get it approved by MCII's board members;
    4. keep in regular contact (weekly or monthly) with the Mission Church;
    5. annually review the Mission Church's budget and make changes if necessary;
    6. visit the Mission Church at least once every two years.
  4. The Missionary may no longer pastor, regularly attend, support financially, or help (apart from supervision) the Mission Church when it is receiving financial support through MCII.
  5. In order to receive financial support from MCII, the Mission Church must prove that it cannot survive financially without outside help. If the Sponsor Missionary or MCII find a way for the Mission Church to survive without outside support, the Mission Church is to take that course of action and relinquish financial support from MCII.
  6. The Mission Church may not receive financial support from any other outside source. Doing so is grounds for withdrawal of support from MCII.
  7. The Mission Church must write an article of at least 300 words telling what has happened in the Mission Church during the previous month and provide a financial report of monies received and spent during the previous month before it can receive its monthly support.
